Research And Practice Of Teleconsultation System With Configurable Business Process

Medical resources are unevenly distributed in areas of our country, the research and construction of teleconsultation system is of paramount importance for mitigating this imbalance. In recent years, with the research and construction of a series of teleconsultation projects, the research of related technologies which supporting for teleconsultation business process has come to maturation. The related technologies include network communication technology, audio and video conference technology, image-processing technology, the integration of clinical data and EMR (electronic medical records) technology, and some of them have achieved componentization or real products. But, business logic and business process of traditional teleconsultation system are coupled tightly. Alteration of process may bring redesign to a system. The cost for process maintaining is high. In the condition of this, researchers in the field of Medical Informatics could concentrate on teleconsultation itself and go on researching teleconsultation and its system from the perspective of business process.On account of the alteration of teleconsultation process, this thesis researched and analyzed the business process of teleconsultation, and has proposed a research objective that we will establish a teleconsultation system with configurable business process. Therefore the main works we did are as follows:Firstly, we analyzed the research status of teleconsultation systems and related technologies in very great detail and showed the process alteration problem of traditional teleconsultation system. Then, we proposed to research teleconsultation from the perspective of business process and build a teleconsultation system with configurable business process.Secondly, we introduced how to organize a case of teleconsultation and did a detailed analysis on the business process of teleconsultation. Completion of a case of teleconsultation requires the participation and cooperation of hospital who applies for a teleconsultation, consultation center, clinical expert and other multilateral collaborators. The teleconsultation processes are of different kinds and lack of normative. But all of them are consist of a series of basic business process units. This thesis did some analysis for business process of teleconsultation. And then, we extracted a group of business process units and the constraints on the combination of business process units. Under certain constraints, various common business processes of teleconsultation can be created by composing the business process units.Thirdly, we did a detailed introduction on workflow technology and ASP.NET which can bring about a teleconsultation system with configurable business process.Finally, basing on the Microsoft WWF (Windows Workflow Foundation) technology, we completed a research of teleconsultation system whose business process can be configured. This kind of teleconsultation system, whose business processes are made up of the relatively fixed business process units. And the business logic and business process of this system are coupled loosely, so it can achieve variation of business process in a shorter time.Through a number of cases of variations in business process, it shows that the business process of teleconsultation system in this thesis can adapt the common variations of consultation processes by process configuration. This kind of system is of flexibility, and will help to reduce repetitive work and make system maintenance easier.
