Objective To analysis general feature of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation(AF) with thromboembolism patients and current status of anticoagulation treatments. Methods To collect 221 cases with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation along with thromboembolism patients in hospitalization during January 2002 to December 2006.Results Among these 211 patients,123 cases(55.7%) were male and 98 cases(44.3%)were female.Mean age was (59.96±14.24) years old. These patients included permanent AF 85 cases(38.5%), persistent AF 64 cases(29.0%) and paroxymal AF 72 cases(32.6%).Among all these thromboembolism events,200 cases(90.5%) were stroke. The average level of international normalized ratio(INR) was(1.28±0.63).There were 187 cases' INR being lower than 1.5,whose percentage was 80.5%.And patients'INR being between 2.0 and 3.0 was only 11 cases, which percentage was 5%.But among these 11 cases, only 1 case with stroke. The utilization ratio of warfarin was 45.2%.And the average dose was (2.38±0.73)mg/d.Conclusions The strength of treatments in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation with thromboembolism patients is not enough. We should strengthen anticoagulation treatments.
