Objective:To discuss the application of magnetic resonanceimaging diffusion weighted imaging and apparent diffusion coefficientmensuration in the evaluation of myoma of uterus treated by highintensity focused ultrasound.Method: Choose 40 patients diagnosedas myoma of uterus in may, 2007-Mar, 2008, 32-51 years old, 42.73years on the average.Apparatus include Avanto1.5T magneticresonance imaging and FEP-BY02 type high intensity focusedultrasound, prior treatment and post-treatment 1 month take magneticresonance imaging examination.b value are 800,1 000 s/mm2,Statistical software is SPSS13.0, statistical method is t test,a=0.05.Results: volume of prior treatment is(36.87±0.3)cm3, posttreatmenti(s 27.36±0.4)cm3, single myoma of uterus is 14 individuals,multi- myoma of uterus is 26 individuals. The numberof myoma ofuterus is 60. The minification hyper than 50% is 4(6.66%), in 20%-50% is 46(76.67%); under 20% or larger than prior treatment is10(16.67%). All of the myoma of uterus presents lower signal inT1WI and T2WI, 7 presents higher and lower signal in T1WI posttreatment.ADC data is lower than that of prior treatment, which hasstatistical significance(P<0.05), especially they have the same bvalue(P<0.05), it has no statistical significance when they havedifferent b value (P>0.05). The image quality has no difference when b=1 000s/mm2 or b=800s/mm2. Conclusion : HIFU is a safe and effective method in curing myoma of uterus; MRI plays an importantrole in the evaluation of myoma of uterus treated by high intensityfocused ultrasound;Magnetic resonance imaging diffusion weightedimaging and apparent diffusion coefficient mensuration is a goodmethod in evaluation, which should be extended in clinic.
