Observation Of Curative Efficacy And Immunological Analysis Of Liyao Granule In The Treatment Of Acute Lumbar Disc Herniation (LDH) (Damp-heat Syndrome Type)

Objective:To observe the curative efficacy of Liyao granule in treating the acute LDH of damp-heat Syndrome type and approach its immunological contribution.Methods: Totally 60 LDH (damp-heat Syndrome type) patients were selected from the Department of Orthopedics in Foshan hospital of TCM between May to September 2007 . Divided them into experimental group (Liyao granule plus foundation therapy) and control group (Diclofenac Sodium Enteric-coated Tablet plus foundation therapy) on an average. Two weeks later, appraisaled by Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA) score and VAS score and determined the content of IL-6 and TNF-αbefore and after therapy.Result: The symptoms and objective signs of two groups were improved obviously, meanwhile, the content of IL-6 and TNF-αwere degraded. But contrast between two groups had non-significantly sense. (P)0.05).Conclusion:Liyao granule could eliminate the damp-heat symptoms, dephlogisticate, and odynolysis. The curative efficacy was equivalency with Diclofenac Sodium Enteric-coated Tablet, but, there were non-significant adverse reactions betweet two groups. The mechanism of the drug was concerned with depressing inflammatory factors maybe.
