Objective: To observe the effects of needling on the fine motor functions of children with cerebral palsy . At the same time , provide scientific evidence for needling on the fine motor function impairment of children with cerebral palsy , and improve the position of needling in the treatment of this disease. Methods:Sixty patients were randomly divided into tow groups, treatment group and control group, using the random, contrast and single blind research method. There were 30 patients each group. Patients in the control group were treated with simple rehabilitation training method, while those in the treatment group received the treatment of acupuncture in addition to the rehabilitation training .All patients were assessed before and after one training period. The evaluating items is Peabody developmental motor scale-fine motor from Peabody Developmental Motor Scale 2.Results:There is a difference (P<0.001) of fine motor quotient (FMQ), grasp capacity index, capacity index of visual-motor integration both in the treatment group and the control group before and after one training period. There is also a difference (P<0.05 or P<0.01) of fine motor quotient (FMQ), grasp capacity index, capacity index of visual-motor integration between the treatment group and the control group after treatment.Conelusion: Acupuncture therapy combined with rehabilitation training and rehabilitation therapy alone can both improve fine motor functions of children with cerebral palsy, and the combination of rehabilitation therapy of acupuncture can play a unique advantage of acupuncture, which making a greater degree of improvement of fine motor quotient, it proved the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment from the side. Therefore, acupuncture can improve the fine motor functions of children with cerebral palsy, it is worth further study and clinical application. We will further clarify the role of acupuncture in the future, with the method of setting up acupuncture group as a treatment group , but acupuncture combined with rehabilitation group and rehabilitation group as control groups. This method will provide a more scientific, more reliable evidence to the effectiveness of needling on the fine motor functions of children with cerebral palsy.
