Objective:To discuss the difference of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromesin Patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) beforeand after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), then we study the relationbetween the TCM syndromes and the degree of pathologic changes of the coronaryartery, and through the investigation providing the relation between the TCMsyndromes and the dangerous factors of CHD and DM.Methods:Choose patients with DM and also diagnosed CHD by PCI in Guangdong provincialhospital of TCM during Mar, 2006 to Mar, 2008, then analyze the relation betweenthe TCM syndromes and the dangerous factors, we can conclude the effect. Inthe base of the degree of pathologic changes of the coronary artery , connectingwith the TCM syndromes, find out the impact of the TCM syndromes to thepathologic changes of the coronary. By learning the difference of the TCMsyndromes before and after PCI, analyze which TCM syndromes are the primarysyndromes.Results:107 patients were brought into the research. Using statistical way, the resultsshow that before and after PCI, the primary syndromes are the syndrome ofdeficiency of QI, the syndrome of blood stasis and the syndrome of sputum , thesecond syndromes are the syndrome of deficiency of YANG, the syndrome of deficiency of YIN, the stagnation-syndrome of QI, while only a few syndromes are the accumulation-syndrome of pathogenic cold and the syndrome of heat. The changes of the syndromes after PCI are the proportion of the syndrome of deficiency of QI , the syndrome of blood stasis and the syndrome of sputum are increase, but the syndrome of deficiency of YIN and the stagnation-syndrome of QI are decrease, which has not gained statistic significance(P>0.05) are the syndrome of deficiency of YANG, the accumulation-syndrome of pathogenic cold and the syndrome of heat. The degree of pathologic changes of the coronary artery in the syndrome of deficiency of QI and the syndrome of blood stasis are higher than the degree in the syndrome of no deficiency of QI and the syndrome of no blood stasis(P<0.05). There are no significant differences in the degree of pathologic changes of the coronary artery between the syndrome of sputum and the syndrome of no sputum. Age and family disease(DM or CHD) are the primary dangerous factors to the syndrome of deficiency of QI . Sex, smoking and high levels of blood lipids are the primary dangerous factors to the syndrome of sputum . Age and hypertension are the primary dangerous factors to the syndrome of blood stasis. Conclusion:Some dangerous factors just as sex, age, smoking, hypertension, high levels of blood lipids and family disease have different impacts to the patients with CHD and DM. The syndrome of deficiency of QI, the syndrome of blood stasis and the syndrome of sputum are the primary syndromes in these patients. The syndrome of deficiency of QI and the syndrome of blood stasis have great influence to the degree of pathologic changes of the coronary artery, and they are also the primary factors.
