Objectives Through the existing relevant literature retrieval compared with the PSMA and PSA in the diagnostic efficiency of prostate cancer, Systematic evaluation of prostate specific membrane antigen(PSMA)as a diagnostic marker of prostate cancer in clinical application.Materials and Methods Randomized or controlled clinical trials were identified from PUBMED,The Cochrane Library,CMCC,CNKI to April 2008,The Meta-analysis was used to analyze the results which the subjects were all diagnosed using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction detection of circulating prostate specific antigen mRNA and prostate specific membrane antigen mRNA.According to the different diagnostic strategies,Two groups were defined, and calculated the diagnostic odds ratios(DOR)and the 95 %CI of different diagnostic methods, then plotted two SROCs.Results Nine studies were included in the present analysis. The quality of research methods are consistent with the requirements of case-control trials. Cumulative number of cases and controls, respectively 505 and 355 cases,The incorporate DOR value of PSA was 7.937,and the 95%CI was 3.684~17.097,The incorporate DOR value of PSMA was 9.203,and the 95%CI was 2.984~28.382,The SROC curve area of PSA was 81.86%,and the 95%CI was 0.7261~0.8751,The SROC curve area of PSMA was 81.83%,and the 95%C1 was 0.7011~0.9355。Analysis of the SROC showed that there was no significant difference between PSA and PSMA.Conclusions This Meta-analysis indicates that there was no significant difference between PSA and PSMA in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
