Ginseng(Panax ginseng C.A.Meye.), as Chinese traditional titbit for preserving one's health, is used both for eating and medicinal purposes. It acquires much admiration from doctors of different dynasties. It is ginsenosides that is active ingredient of ginseng, provided with pharmacological activity. So far, approximately 50 kinds of saponin have been separated and identified from different parts of ginseng, including protopanaxadiol, protopanaxatriol and oleanolic acid panaxoside. There are different amounts of panaxoside in different parts of ginseng. And it is discrepant in effects of different parts. During recent years, the research has approved that flowers also posses important medicinal benefits. The flower is five times than the root in the amount of panaxoside. Panaxoside Rd, which can enhance immunity and control cancer cell, is 13.85 times in the bloom than the root.Re, which can defend cell membrane and keep from aging, is 14.7 times. And, the flower is low in the Ro, which leads people to suffer from heat. Ginseng flower is unique in containing nonapetide. It also comprises plentiful microelement and a small quantity of oligosaccharides. In the article, crude panaxoside and oligosaccharides are extracted and separated from liquor of Ginseng flowers through the macroporous adsorptive resins. By the means of column chromatography, crude panaxoside is separated and purified into three fraction: LGR1,LGR2 and LGR3. After the routine measurement such as TLC, HPLC and 13C-NMR, it's proved that the fraction LGR1 is the compound of Rb1 and some other fraction in contrast to the standards. And LGR2 is the compound of Rd and Rg1.At the same time, research is conducted on inbody activity of anti-tumor in application of LGR1,LGR2 and LGR3. The results indicate that the anti-tumor activity of LGR2 is obvious under the condition of certain concentration. However, there are no evident differences between LGR1 and LGR3 in effect on the Hela cell.At present, few researches are reported on oligosaccharides from Ginseng flowers. In the article, basic physical and chemical inspection is made on the oligosaccharides from Ginseng bloom, by such means as Sephadex G-100 and Sephadex G-25, macroporous resins, HPLC and spectrophotography. Basic data is accumulated for the futrure reseach.
