Objective:To investigate the association between 5-HTTLPR,STin2,C(-1019)G,A(-161)T,T(-102)C gene polymorphism and MD and search the susceptible gene combination to MD.Methods:A case-control sample, including 396 patients and 396 controls, was recruited in our study with strict selected standards. PCR was used to detect the polymorphism of 5-HTTLPR,STin2,C(-1019)G,A(-161)T and T(-102)C. The frequencies of genotype and allele were also compared between patients and control subjects by using the Pearson Chi-square analysis and the MDR software was used for data analysis.Result1. Results of revelence between 5-HTT,5-HTR1A,5-HTR1B and 5-HTR2A single gene polymorphism and MDThere was a significant difference in the genotype distribution and allele frequency between patients and control subjects of C(-1019)G and there was a significant difference in the genotype distribution of 5-HTTLPR between patients and controls (P<0.05). .There were no significant differences of the distribution of STin2,A(-161)T and T(-102)C in genotypes and alleles between patients and controls and there were no significant difference of the distribution in allele of 5-HTTLPR.(P>0.05).2. Results of revelence between interaction of 5-HTT,5-HTR1A,5-HTR1B,5-HTR2A gene polymorphism and MDThere were no significant differences in genotype and allele frequency of combination of 5-HTTLPR,STin2,C(-1019)G,A(-161)T and T(-102)C between patients and controls(P>0.05).Conclusions:Our results suggest C(-1019)G,5-HTTLPR polymorphism is probably associated with MD and STin2,A(-161)T,T(-102)C may not probably associate with MD . Interaction of 5-HTTLPR,STin2,C(-1019)G,A(-161)T and T(-102)C gene polymorphism is not associated with MD.
