Objective:To ovserve if NRG1 can express in visual cortex of rats and its expression rule,and dicide its association with visual development and plasiticity.Method:30 Wistar rats at the postnatal 1 day,14days,21days,28days,45days and 90days were selected,and each group had 5.After rats were killed 4um thick sections were cut from paraffin imbedded tissue of visual cortex in coronary side. Then the expression of NRG1 in the visual cortex of rats were examined by HE staining and immunohistochemisl methods with anti -NRG1 antibody.After SP staining microscope and computer-assisted image analyses system were used to collect the image and calculate the number of stained cells.The experiment data were indicated with mean±standard deviation and were analysised with SPSS11.0. Variance was used among different groups and P<0.05 was significant difference.Results:①The result of HE staining:The structure of normal rats visual cortex is very clearly;②the result of immunohistochemisl methods:The positive cells were brown and mainly located in cell nucleus;③The number of NRG1 positive cell increased by the ages.NRG1 was found when rat was born,but the number was very little.Then the expression increased slowly and about 25 days reached the pick.After that the number decreased until 90 days.P<0.05 show it had significant difference.Conclusion:The result indicate that NRG1 express in visual cortex of rats,and the quantity of the expression of NRG1 correlated with the onset and decline of the critical period.It proposed that NRG1 is one of the important factors to visual development and plasiticity.
