Objective To discuss Carroll procedure's clinical application and curative results.Methods Carroll operation treatment for 288 CCF(Dimeglio typeⅢ,Ⅳ),male 210 patients(245 feet),female 78 patients(93 feet), unilateral 238 patients, bilateral 50 patients, altogether 338 feet.Operation age from 6 month to 10 years old,average age is 2.4 years. plaster fixed for 6-8 weeks after operation.Results Two hundred and eighty eight patients(338 feet)were followed up postoperatively for 0.5 to 4 years ,averaging2.6 years. According to the criteria concerning the external appearance,functional recovery of the foot after operation and roentgenographic findings ,the result was evaluated as excellent in 278 patients(324 feet), good in 8 patients(10 feet), fair in 2 patients(4 feet). Non-naviculare necrosis occured。Conclusion Carroll Operation is the quite effective way for correcting CCF . Non-operational cure before operation can increase the curative rate. The effect of operation is related to the age when the operation is given and the deformation degree of the feet .
