Background:Nowadays,AIDS has become a global problem of public health. The main infecting population are young people.Since the lack of effective medicine and vaccine,it's recognized that we should lead people to choose and establish safe preventive habits through propagandizing and effective intervening.College students are curious, convergent and easy to investigate and intervene.Nowadays sex has gradually become the main transmitting mode of AIDS.As the changing of sex view,many unhealthy behaviors appear in the college students.It's very necessary and important to promulgate the knowledge of AIDS among college students.Objective:To find out the level of knowledge about AIDS of college students in Tong Liao;to educate and intervene among them and to evaluate the effect of the intervention.Methods:Random sampling is used to choose out 400 students of 4 specialties (100students per specialty)from two colleges of Tong Liao.Ask them to answer the questionnaires anonymously before the intervention,after the intervention and a month after the intervention.Use the software SPSS11.5 to analyze the data by different specialty,nation,and gender.Results:College students are eager to have more knowledge about AIDS.Health education can help students know more about AIDS and correct their wrong attitude to the infectors and patients of AIDS.We find the approach that the students get the knowledge about AIDS is very single,and the students don't pay enough attention to the social problems brought by AIDS.For example the rate of accuracy of the answers about the 19 transmitting ways,7 of them before the invention,12 after the invention and 8 of them a month later is more than 80%.And among the 10 options about the attitude,habits,and faith of AIDS,2 of them before the intervention is more than 80% in the rate of accuracy and 5 of them after the intervention.It's interesting to find that the accuracy rate of the option "mosquito biting doesn't transmitting AIDS" is 33.8% before the intervention and 32%a month after the intervention.Conclusion:It is very important to give the college students some health education about AIDS.College students' knowledge about AIDS is comparatively indigent,and they don't know much about the trend of the prevalence,and the harm to the society.There is much difference of individual knowledge between different subgroups of the students.The prevention and self-protection isn't well actualized, and some of them have the wrong attitude to the HIV infectors.There is much to do in the promulgating of the knowledge about the incidental transmitting way and the prevention.The consciousness of prevention needs to be enhanced.The education of the school is lack of pertinence,perdurability and substantial results.The schools don't attach much importance to the students as the susceptive groups of AIDS.They spend little time in education and the content isn't abundant.They don't make full use of the network and teach in the single way.We should lead the college students to develop healthy habits and make it the key of prevention against AIDS.Gradually popularize the knowledge to the society and prompt the whole society to participate in the prevention and control of AIDS.
