The researches on Xanxium mongolium Kitag were reviewed at the beginning of this thesis including plant source,chemical constituents,pharmacological activities and clinical applications.However as a Chinese herb Xanxium mongolium Kitag has not been studied on its chemical constituents not to mention the systematically physiological,biochemical and pharmacology study on it.So it should be done for its further exploitation.1.The essential oil was obtained from Xanthium mongolicum Kitag.by extraction and steam distillation.The chemical components were separated and identified by GC-MS. The relative content of each component was determined by area nomalization.89 peaks were separated and 74 compounds were identified representing 85.63%of the total contents.The major constitutes were butanoic acid,3-methyl(16.421%), pentanoic acid,3-methyl-(15.882%),benzeneacetaldehyde(11.281%),hexanoic acid (5.051%),furfural(4.716%),benzyl alcohol(2.358%),and phenylethyl alcohol (2.282%)etc.2.Fatty oil was extracted from seeds of Xanthium mongolicum Kitag.by supercritical CO2 under the optimized conditions of pressure(30 MPa),temperature(45℃)and extraction time(2h).The yield of the fatty oil was 8.5%.After saponification and esterification the oil was determined by capillary GC-MS.14 compounds have been identified and their relative contents determined by area nomalization.The major components were linolenic acid and linoleic acid,and their relative contents were 55.090%and 22.002%.3.The constituents were isolated by various column chromatography methods,and their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis.Five compounds were isolated from 70%ethanol extract and their structures were elucidated asβ-sitosterol(Ⅰ), hydroxybenzonic acid(Ⅱ),1-Propanone,3-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxyl-3-methoxyphenyl) (Ⅲ),caffeic acid(Ⅳ)and chlorogenicc acid(Ⅴ).CompoundⅡ,Ⅲ,ⅣandⅤare isolated from Xanthium mongolicum Kitag.for the first time.4.The seeds of Xanthium mongolicum Kitag and Xanxium sibiricum were digested by HNO3-HClO4 and the micro-elements were determined by inductively coup led plasma atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES).The standard addition recovery is 0.93,and the RSD is lower than 6%.The method is rapid and simple with high accuracy and good precision.It w as applied to the determination of standard and actual samples with satisfactory results.The contents of micro-elements in seeds of Xanthium mongolicum Kitag and Xanxium sibiricum were similar.
