Epidemic Characteristics And Clinical Research On Phlegm And Blood Stasis Due To Qi Deficiency Syndromes Of Hypertension

Essential Hypertension(EH) refers to a syndrome with characteristics of increased aortic blood pressure, which frequently being complicated by injuries of targeted organs such as brain, heart, kidney and etc, is a common cardiovascular disease as the main threaten factor to the human health with high disability rate and severely decreases the life quality of human being. Hitherto, the efficient prevention and treatment of hypertension has become the focus of modern research.Objective1. To find out the epidemic characteristics of phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes of hypertension.2. Observe the clinical application research of Compound Qima Capsule for phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndrome of hypertension.Methods1. Altogether 605 cases of patient records were selected from the 2nd TCM Hospital of Guangdong Province and TCM Hospital of Zhongshan County between Jan, 2005 to Mar, 2008, and filled in forms for statistics analysis with the SPSS software in order to explore the epidemic characteristics of phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes of hypertension.2. All the 60 cases of phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndrome of hypertension from the 2nd TCM Hospital of Guangdong Province between Jan, 2007 to Dec, 2007 were randomly divided into two average groups, the control group treated by Nifedipine Sustained-release Tablets 20mg Bid and/or Captopril Tablets 12. 5mg/25mg Tid; the treatment group treated with the same and add the Compound Qima Capsule 2 pill Tid, and observe the indexes of improvement in clinical symptoms blood pressure controlling condition, four items test of blood lipid and side-effect occurrences. Results1. The epidemic characteristics investigation result of phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes of hypertension indicate that there are statistic difference among the six types of TCM syndrome of hypertension in their age grade, course grade, classification of hypertension, TCM diagnosis and complication composition (P<0. 05); there are no statistic difference in their sex rate and episode season (P>0. 05);There are statistic difference between phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes and the other five type in their sex rate (the other type), age grade (adverse flow of liver yang and internal obstruction of turbid phlegm), course grade (internal obstruction of turbid phlegm), classification of hypertension (upward disturb of phlegm heat), TCM diagnosis (adverse flow of liver yang) and complication(adverse flow of liver yang and internal obstruction of turbid phlegm) composition (P<0. 05).2. The therapeutic efficacy result of Compound Qima Capsule for phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes of hypertension indicate that therapeutic efficacy on blood pressure of the treatment group is 93. 3% and that of the control group is 90%, there is statistic difference between them (P<0.05); corresponding to the clinical treatment effect rate with 96.7% in comparison to 93.7% (P<0.05); the treatment group was superior to the control group in reducing TC,TG level and the former could enhance HDL index relating to the therapeutic effect on reducing blood lipid;(P<0.01) .Conclusions1. The phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndromes is different compared with the other five types which its age is older, course is longer, more headache and heart-throb diagnosis and more side-effect occurrences.2. Compound Qima Capsule can greatly improve the clinical symptoms of the hypertension patients with phlegm and blood stasis due to qi deficiency syndrome by virtues of little side-effect, controlling the blood pressure steadily and regulating the abnormal blood lipid level.
