Object To explore the difference of serum lipid concentration among patients with major depression, anxiety disorder and comorbid anxiety and depression . Method Serum concentrations of total cholesterol(CHO), triglycerides(TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were measured in 31 depression patients(DG group) ,23 anxiety patients(AG group) and 18 patients with comorbid anxiety and depression (CAD group) by enzymatic methods. Results The serum TG concentration in DG group was significantly higher than those in AG group , but no significant difference compared with CAD group ; the serum CHO, LDL-C and HDL-C concentration in CAD group were higher than those in DG group and AG group, but there were no significant difference. Conclusion There was no significantly different lipid metabolism between CAD patients and AG patients or DG patients.
