The Survey And Analysis Of Physical Development Of Primary And Middle School Students Of Mulao Nationality In Guangxi

Objectives:To investigate the regularity of physical development of the Mulao nationality,and to accumulate data for healthy care,physical anthropology and ethnology.Methods:The samples were randomly chosen from the primary and middle school students of Mulao nationality in Guangxi,aged from 6 to 16 years old. The indexes of the physical anthropometry was performed according to the methods of Shao Xiang-Qing and Heath-Carter,measured 21 indexes including stature,weight and so on.The database of body constitution was set up on computer and the data were analyzed by SPSS13.0.The somatotype was evaluated by Heath-Carter anthropometric methods.Results:①The physique indexes,such as height,weight,chest circumstance and so on,was increased as the age increasing and in synchronism with physical development.②The growth curve of majority physique indexes has two overlaps between boys and girls.③The time of the 2nd growth spurt was different among the physique indexes,the height priority to the other indexes.④The height and weight of Mulao nationality students were close to that of the Han nationality students of Guangxi Yulin 10 years ago and obviously higher than that of the Maonan nationality students of Guangxi.However,the height and weight of Mulao nationality student was significantly lower than that of the Han nationality of Chinese students.⑤The somatotypes of the primary and middle school students of the Mulao nationality show statistically significant difference between boys and girls.Linear degree of somatotypes was higher and profile was leaner in boys.Somatotypes of girls were similar to boys before 9-year-old,but the linear degree of somatotypes declined and the somatotypes became chubby after the growth spurt.Conclusion:The somatotypes development of the primary and middle school students of Mulao nationality coincides to the normal regular of physical development of the children and adolescents.The physical development obviously exists discrepant between boys and girls,and also discrepance between Mulao nationality students and other nationality students.
