Objective: To investigate and analyze the prevalence of overweight and obesity among primary and secondary students of Qingdao city, as well as overweight and obesity to the influence of body function and physical fitness, and the relationship between the body mass index and body function and physical fitness. To evaluate the primary and middle school students’ physical health and providessome referencesfortheoverweightandobesitypreventionwork..Method: With the methods the stratified cluster random sampling carried out, cross-sectional data5278 students aged 7~18 were selected from primary, junior, and senior middle schools in Qingdao respectively in 2014. Used the prepared investigation questionnaire for the general situatio;Simultaneously including morphological index(height, weight), body function index(heart rate, blood pressure and vital capacity) and athletic ability index(50 meters run time, grip strength, strength, standing long jump, sit-and-reach, endurance run time), and calculate the fitness index(PFI).Thestatisticalanalysis wasanalysed Application SPSS21.0software.Results: 1. According to the overweight and obesity screening criteria of BMI, Qingdao primary and middle school students are overweight detection rate was 15.2%, the differences between different age groups have no statistical significance(χ2=0.967,P﹥0.05); But obesity detection rate was 11.0%, the difference between various age groups was statistically significant( χ 2=87.236,P﹤0.05), andwiththeincrease ofage, obesitydetectionratetodecrease.2. Qingdao boys of primary and middle school students overall rateof overweightand obesity were17.8% and 14.8% respectively, the overall overweight and obese girls detection rate were 12.6%and 7.0% respectively, boys are more than girls, the difference has statistical significance(P﹤0.05). Urban students overall rate of overweight and obesity were 15.8% and 13.5% respectively, the rural students overall overweight and obesity detection rate were 14.7% and 8.4% respectively, obesity detection rate of urban and rural differences statistically significant(P﹤0.05), the city is morethanthecountryside.3. For body function, the systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure are normal ﹤overweight﹤obese group(P﹤0.05), The vital capacity index weight is obesity﹤overweight﹤normal group(P﹤0.05); For physical fitness, compared with normal, overweight or obese groups are with poor test scores, and the physical fitness index(PFI) is obesity﹤overweight﹤normal group(P﹤0.05).4. Partial correlation analysis, in addition to the sit-and-reach, BMI is associated with other various function and physical indexes, and systolic pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate, endurance run time, 50 meters run time were positively correlated(P﹤0.05), and vital capacity index weight, strength, grip strength index and standing long jump were negatively correlated(P﹤0.05).5. After logistic regression analysis the systolic blood pressure( OR=1.049, 95%CI was1.043-1.056),endurance runtime( OR=1.003,95%CI was 1.002-1.004),vital capacityindex weight( OR=0.924,95%CI was 0.918-0.930), grip strengthbody massindex( OR=0.005,95%CI was 0.003-0.009),and muscle strength( OR=0.971,95%CI was 0.966-0.975),long jump( OR=0.994,95%CI was 0.991-0.998) are into the equation, diastolic blood pressure, heartrate, 50 metersruntime andsit-and-reachare notintothe equation. Conclusions: The overweight and obesity detection rates of primary and secondary students in Qingdao are close to the level of the first-tier cities across the country, the situation is very grim;lower age students is the key of preventing obesity crowd. The body function and physical fitness ofprimaryand secondarystudentsare closely relatedtooverweightandobesity.
