Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the endovascular stent for stenosis in the initiation part of subclavian artery. Methods Retrospective analysis 4 patients with stenosis in the initiation part of subclavian artery, identified by clinical performance, signs and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). The corresponding rate of stenosis were 90%,80%,75%,50%. With the guide of DSA, all patients were treated by endovascular stent under local anesthesia, 8 French femoral artery sheath was inserted after successfully Seldinger' s puncture and 8 French guiding was inserted in subclavian artery near stenotic position, guiding by 0.035in micro-wire, the stent crossed over the stenosis. After accurately located, released the stents. After the stent located, reviewed by angiography instantly to observe the location and blood stream of stent. To observe the changes of clinical performance, signs and the complication of periprocedual period after the procedures. Results All endovascular procedure were accomplished successfully, all residual stenosis<10%, all patients clinic performance and signs disappeared or improved greatly after the procedures. No complications occurred during the periprocedual period. All patients were followed-up from 3 months to 13 months, the symptoms were not reoccur, subclavian arteries became patent well and phenomenon of stealing blood vanishing identified by sonography. Conclusion Endovascular stent is efficacy and safe therapy for symptomatic stenosis of the initiation part of subclavian artery . Its prospect should need more investigations.
