【Objective】To study the relationship between sleep quality and mental health of military personnel in Tibetan plateau to improve sleep quality and the level of mental health,improve the combat effectiveness of reference.【Methods】163 military personnel in Tibetan plateau were assessed by PSQI and SCL-90.【Results】①The general mean score of PSQI of military personnel in high altitude area was 7.06±3.04,PSQI>7 as a standard,36.8%of subject s had sleep problems,which is 60 people.their problems of sleep were subjective sleep quality,sleep time,sleep efficiency,sleep disturbance,day dysfunction,the percentages were 18.4%,45.4%,33.1 %,19.7%and 58.2%.②there was significant difference(P<0.05)among male and female soldiers sleep disorders and dysfunction of the day,with scout troops and Automobile soldier,Signals operator and Automobile soldier in sleep efficiency and PSQI,there was significant difference(P<0.05),there was a significant difference(P<0.05)among which assigned to plateau for different time on sleep disorders.③Plateau soldiers PSQI scores and components and SCL-90 factors were significantly correlated(P<0.05),to PSQI>7 defined as a judgement of sleep quality standards,there were significant differences(P<0.05)among the SCL-90 scores and factors scores.④Sleep quality training has a significant impact on training performance,sleep disorders in the training is poor.【Conclusion】①The sleep quality of military personnel in Tibetan plateau was not satisfacted.Sleep quality was correlated with arms,gender,the time for assigned to plateau and the qualifications.②Plateau soldiers sleep quality associated with the mental health status,poor quality of sleep,their mental health status also poor.③Plateau sleep quality has a significant impact on military training performance,poor quality of sleep, the training results were poor.
