Objective: To understand of the nutritional status related VA,Zn of Medical Students aged from 18 to 25 in Lanzhou area and the status of nutritional KAP, so as to identify problems, make commendations, and provide the scientific proof for the further nutritional education and intervention with Dietary Supplement. Method: Medical students took the nutritional survey (including dietary survey, physical measurement, and clinical examination of deficiency disease, laboratory detection of nutritional level), and were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire about nutritional KAP.Results: Grain and tuberous crop were the main food of the object, their food types were more complete, and the dietary ingredients basically meet the needs. However, the males' average intake of vegetable was just achieving 30.8% of RNI, and females' was 30.4%. The pure energy food that the male took besides three meals per day was account for 15.1% of all total energy, and the male was for 18.2. Average fruit that male took was just reached 12% of the RNI, and milk was 49%. Average meat that female took was come to 70% of RNI, and egg was 65%. Of all fruit and vegetable, female took besides three meals were reached 25.6%.The amount of majority of nutrients intake meet the need, but just reached the lower limit. For energy intake, 43% of male and 46% of female was in excess of RNI, and for protein intake, 50% of male and 36% of female exceeded RNI, and for fat intake, 37% of male, and 47.3% of female had more than RNI. The object's carbohydrate intake was exceeded 60% of RNI. Energy derived from breakfast was on the low side, and from supper was on the high side. Energy not derived three meals was 5% of all energy intake.Nutrient intake of vitamin A, Vitamin C, and vitamin B2 were not met he demand. 24% of male and 33% of female's vitamin A intake was over than RNI, and main derived from 6-carotene, 31% derived from animal food. For vitamin A intake, 50% of object reached the RNI. And for Vitamin B2 intake, 14% of female was in excess of RNIObject's dietary iron intake reached or more than AI was 94%. But dietary iron derived from vegetable food was 90%. 64% of object's dietary calcium intakes not reach the RNI. For dietary zinc intake, 41 % of male and 75% of female reached RNI. The state of female dietary zinc intake was better than male (P<0.05). As to dietary Zinc intake, objects that cost more than 300 Yuan on food were better that those whose cost low than 300 Yuan (P<0.05).The average value of BMI index was in normal range. The male and female WHR respectively was 0.80±0.06, 0.77±0.04, and the value of upper-arm tight circumference subtracting upper-arm slack circumference respectively was 3.10±1.00 cm, 0.90±0.30 cm. HAZ and WAZ of object reduces along with the age increasing, comparison amount groups divided by age had statistical significance (P<0.05), but WHZ increases along with the age increasing, comparison amount ages had no significance.There had significant difference between Vitamin A concentration and RBP in blood serum (P<0.05), and had no significant difference between RBC and HC in blood. The anemia prevalence of male and female respectively was 6.2% and 9.3%. There was no significant difference between male and female on IgG, IgA and IgM, but there has significant difference on complement C3 and ALP (P<0.05).There exists correlativity between Vitamin A concentration in blood serum and dietary Vitamin A intake (r=0.32,P<0.05), and had no correlativity between Vitamin A concentration and RBP in blood serum, and neither existed between dietary Vitamin A intake and RBP in blood serum.Average dark adaptation time of object was 19.28±5.77 s, there has 58.23% of object whose dark adaptation time was lower than 30s. 56.7% of object felt having good mental status, and 76.5% felt having good appetite. All of object, 46.4% had no syndrome or physical sign on eyes, 53.6% had one or two syndrome or physical sign. 24.2% of people had syndrome of xerosis cutis, and 1.2% had keratoderma, and 9.4% had cystitis.The average score of nutritional knowledge of the crowd was 32.7±6.8, and nutritional attitude of the crowd was 12.9±2.8. The average score of the female was better than it of the male, the average score of the objects in city was better than it of the objects in countryside, Nutritional knowledge had a highly positive correlation with nutritional attitude (r=0.3,P<0.001). The result of multiple linear regression analysis of influential factors on nutritional knowledge indicated sex and origin had a relation with nutritional knowledge.Conclusion: Grain and tuberous crop were the main food of the object, their food types were more complete, and the dietary ingredients basically meet the needs. Those had a good state of physique growth. Prevalence of anemia was lower than state level. Syndrome of deficiency of vitamin A and Zinc are not significant.Inadequate intake of animal food, vegetable and fruit were the main dietary problem of medical students in LanZhou. All objects had a low level of nutrition knowledge, however, had a positive attitude. An effective way of nutritional education should be done to improve the population's nutritional knowledge, to provide support for the formation of good behaviors to change their diet to a reasonable direction changes, and to provide the initial value for the further study of supplement inference together with nutritional education.
