Objective: 1. To get the message of IPSS score and quality of life score of group TURP and group OP BPH patients before treatment and after treatment for three months, six months, and 48 months. 2. To define the weight coefficients of IPSS score, quality of life score and general hospitalization expense in the comprehensive evaluation. 3. To synthetically evaluate treatment outcomes of two operative methods, and to provide evidence for therapeutic regimen selection. Methods: Prospective cohort study was applied. BPH patients were treated by two operative methods randomly, follow-up observations were carried out three months, six months, and 48 months after the treatment. IPSS and BPHQLS were adopted to evaluate IPSS and quality of life of patients at different time. The weight coefficients of IPSS score, quality of life score and general hospitalization expense in the comprehensive evaluation were defined by the Delphi Method. To comprehensively evaluate treatment outcomes of two operative methods with IPSS score, quality of life score and economic indicator..Results: 1. IPSS score curve descended presented in both groups, while QOL score ascended; IPSS scores got before treatment and after treatment for three months, six months showed no significant differences between two groups, but the score of TURP group is higher than that of OP group at 48 months; the total score of QOL of OP group at 3 months, 6 months and 48 months are higher than TURP group. 2. The average hospitalization expense showed no significant differences between two groups. 3. The first class weight defined by the Delphi Method showed: clinical index 0.400, quality of life 0.3667, therapy costs 0.2333; the sub-index of clinical index showed: clinical symptom improving 0.5638, side effect 0.4362; the sub-index of quality of life: disease 0.2276, physiology function 0.2071, satisfaction 0.2016, psychology 0.1983, society 0.1722. 4. The synthetic score of both groups showed ascending trend, comprehend evaluation of scores got before treatment and after treatment for three months, six months showed no significant differences between two groups, curative effect of OP group was better than TURP group at 48 moths. Conclusions: 1. IPSS scores were obviously improved in both operative method groups, the score of OP group was lower than TURP group at 48 month.2. Both operative methods can obviously improve patient's quality of life, the score of OP group was higher than TURP group at 3 months, 6 months and 48 months.3. The first class weight defined by the Delphi Method showed: clinical index 0.400, quality of life 0.3667, therapy costs 0.2333; curative effect of OP group was better than TURP group at 48 moths.
