Objective : Intracerebral hemorrhage is one of the most important types in strokes that thearten the health of middle and older people .Haemoglobin and its metabolism products make a great role in the injury of surrounding brain parenchyma after ICH. In this study rats model received infusion of autologous was copied and pretreatmented with deferoxamine to observed the chance of neurological function, brain water content ,the permability of blood brain barrier ,S100B proteins ,neuron—specific—enolas( NSE) and DNA injury. To investigate the role of iron ions released by metabol- ism products of haemoglobin after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) in the injury of surrounding brain parenchyma and the influence of intervention by deferoxamine。Methods :Male Sprague—Dawley rats were randomly divided into the sham operation groups,intracebral hemorrhage groups and deferox- amine groups, and received infusion of autologous blood. Evaluation on neurological function,the permability of blood brain barrier,tissue pathological change and brain water content were detected , the serum con- centrations of NSE and S100B were detected by ELISA, DNA injury was detected by TUNEL test and the changes of different groups were analysi- Sed.Results: (1) Compared with the sham operation groups, the rats of ICH groups had significantly neurological disorder and the increase of brain water content surrounding brain parenchyma, the permeability of blood brain barrier, S100B protein and NSE of blood serum, the pathology change and TUNEL positive cell. (2)The rats of DFO groups had the same trend with the rats of ICH groups in all kinds of observed items but neurol- ogical function scores test, brain water content surrounding brain parenchy- yma, the permeability blood brain barrier, S100B protein and NSE of blood serum, the pathology change and TUNEL positive cell were lower than those of ICH groups. (3)The serum concentrations of NSE and S100B were dropped after intervention by deferoxamine but NSE dropped significantly higher than that of S100B .Conclusion: (1)The abnormal accumulation of iron ions participate the injury of brain tissue surrounding brain parenchyma after ICH.(2)Defer- oxamine could reduce the injury of brain tissue surrounding brain parench- yma ,and improve neurological function scores test ,that showed a protecti- ve role for the injury.
