OBJECTIVE To investigating the clinical features, laboratory examinations and therapy of Behcet's Disease,in order to establish more clearly the etiology and hence more effective treatment and preventive strategies.METHODS Clinical data of 31 cases of BD from November 2000 to December 2007 in the Department of Dermatology and Rheumatology,Qilu Hospital, Shandong University were retrospectively analyzed, including age, sex, clinical manifestation, laboratory examination, duration of the disease, previous history, systemic damage, therapeutic effect. All available data are dealt with statistical analysis.RESULTS Of the 31 patients of BD,19 were males(61.29%)and 12 were females(38.71%)with an age rang of 10 to 69,The mean age of onset was 33.32±16.16 years old.The most frequent manifestations at disease onset were oral ulcer(80.65%),The most common manifestations observed throughout the disease course were oral ulcer(90.32%),ocular lesion was minimum of all the cardinal symptom.61.3%patients presented positive pathergy test.Laboratory findings showed that the elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate(70.97%),elevated serum CRP(31.7%),elevated leukocyte(38.7%),elevated serum IgG(20.7%),elevated serum IgA(13. 8%),elevated serum IgM(3.4%).The frequency that decrease of serum A/G protain lever was58.6%.The patients were mainly treated with glucocorticoid, thalidomide, immunosuppressant or immunomodulator, follow the therapeutic principle of individualized treatment.CONCLUSION 1.A higher prevalence of BD has been observed in adult males.2.The most common manifestations observed throughout the disease course were oral ulcer(90.32%),and it was usually the onset manifestation.3.Ocular manifestations should be treated early,as progression to blindness is a potential morbidity in this disorder.4.Make ESR and CRP standards of BD' s active stage.5.Infection is one of the etiological factors.6.To examine the vascular system regularly, then we can find the vascular lesion in time.7.Corticosteroids are effective first-line agents.8.drug combination can get better therapeutic effect.
