Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of using pre-cut decompression in treatment of the compartment syndrome. Methods:12 cases of compartment syndrome with early surgical incision were to lower the pression of intracompartment from June 2000 to December 2007,including male 7 cases, female 5 cases. The age of the subjects were 27~79 years (average age: 52). Preoperative diagnosis: 2 cases tibia comminuted fracture (the tibial plateau or upper fracture), 7 cases tibia and fibula fractures (including 2 cases of open tibia and fibula fractures), 1 case ankle fractures, 1 case Pilon fracture and 1 case lacerated tricepssurae with delayed decompression. To use pre-cut decompression surgery was taken in treatment of compartment syndrome, combined with external fixation. Because of the swelling obviously limb, the incision should be secondly sutured or dermatoplasty. We evaluated swell, pain and physical function and sensitivity from postoperation to discharge. For patients with fracture,we evaluate the effect of healing according to the follow-up review. Results:The target of evaluation restored after operation and compartment syndrome was no recurrence. All cases with fracture reached the clinical union standard. Apart from 1 case infection in the track of screw, 1 case lacerated tricepssurae was resected partly because of avascular necrosis. The infections case reached union by pulling out the pin and changing dressings regionally. Conclusion:We must watch out for the occurrence of compartment syndrome ,concerning on the extremities fractures, severe soft tissue damage, particularly calf site.In short, closed observation of the signs and symptoms of limb changes.Early diagnosis, early incision and thorough decompression, external fixation showed considerable clinical effect in the treatment of compartment syndrome.
