Objective:To investigate the relationship between GABAA receptorβ2 subunit mRNA expression changes in the central nervous system of rats in different brain regions (hypothalamus,limbic cortex and hippocampus) and the premenstrual syndrome with Liver-qi invasion of PMS.Methods:To detect changes in the expression of GABAA receptorβ2 subunit mRNA to the normal group,the model group and treatment group in different brain regions of rats by using a semi-quantitative RT-PCR gene amplification technology.Results:Compared with normal rats,the GABAA receptorβ2 subunits mRNA in the GABAA receptor expression in edge of rats Liver-qi invasion of PMS was significantly increased(P<0.01),the GABAA receptorβ2 subunits mRNA expression in hypothalamus,hippocampus and cerebral cortex also significantly increased(P<0.05). Compared with model group,theβ2 subunits in the GABAA receptor mRNA expression in edge of the rats drug-treated by Baixiangdan-capsule decreased significantly(P<0.05), the GABAA receptorβ2 subunits mRNA expression in hypothalamus,hippocampus and cerebral cortex also decreased significantly(P<0.01).Couelusiou:The Liver-qi invasion of PMS was related to the decline of expressions of the central GABAA receptorβ2 subunits. At the same time,GABAA receptorβ2 subunits as a effective target of Baixiangdancapsule, its expression of mRNA decreased significantly.
