Objective To evaluate the significance of the high sensitive C reactive protein test for the diagnosis of preterm newborn bacterial infection。Methods 52 preterm newborn cases with suspected bacterial infection who were admitted to our preterm newborn ward during 2007.9 to 2008.8 were enrolled to perform a study。The hsCRP,CRP,blood roution test of all the cases were conducted and analyzed with their sencitivity, specificity etc。Result In the 52 cases there were 26 cases with bacterial infection and the other 26 preterm newborn without bacterial infection。There were 29 cases with hsCRP level below 3mg/dl ( hsCRP≤3μg/ml ) and 23 cases in the range of 3μg/ml to 8μg/ml , sensitivity80.7% ,specificity92.3%, the level of 44 cases was below 8μg/ml (CRP≤8μg/ml)and 8 case was above 8μg/ml (CRP <8μg/ml) , sensitivity 26.9% ,specificity96.1%.There were 15 cases with blood roution test exceptional and 37 cases with blood roution test normal, sensitivity 38.5% ,specificity80.8%。The sensitivity of hsCRP for the diagnosis of bacterial infection septicemia were higher than CRP and blood roution test。Conclusion the results indicate that the use of hsCRP concentration in preterm newborn can increase accuracy and sencitivity of infection diagnosis。hsCRP test is feasible for the diagnosis of preterm newborn bacterial infection。...
