Objective To analyze the epidemic characteristic and risk factors of injury ofprimary school students and explore the feasible integrated intervention for injury ofprimary school students in urban-rural fringe of large scale city, and provide referenceto sport injury intervention on children. Method We implemented the integratedintervention of host-environment-motivation and compared injury incidence rate andKAP after intervention with that before intervention. Result After intervention, thedifference of injury incidence rate between intervention group and control group hadno significance (P>0.05). The knowledge and attitude of parents in intervention groupchanged significantly after intervention comparing with the control group. Theknowledge level of intervention group was higher than that of control group aboutinjury such as 'Did you know about injury before?' and 'severe injury may causedisability' and so on (P<0.05). The attitude in intervention group was better than thatof control group about accepting education about prevention of students sport injury(P<0.05). The KAP of students in intervention group changed significantly afterintervention comparing with the control group. To intervene in the process of groupmovement is willing to take measures to protect the right ratio of 91% to 96.1%(P<0.05), the band sport kneepad, splints, and other protective equipment by 20.3% to35.0% (P <0.05). Teachers changed knowledge of the injury was not obvious, butafter the intervention of a physical education teacher for the attention of the studentmovement to prevent injuries to the proportion of intervention by the former 87.7 %95.5% (P <0.05); sports teachers have first-aid skills are also a substantial increase inthe proportion (P <0.05), The intervention group regardless of the view that teachersshould do a good job in the severity of injuries recorded significantly higherproportion. Conclusion The intervention was implemented well in four schools andthe reaction was good, which suggested that the intervention strategy was feasible and effective focusing on education and supported by regulation and rules about rewards and punishment. The sports injuries knowledge, attitudes and behavior of parents, teachers and students have improved markedly. Since the intervention in a relatively short time, changes in the incidence of injury is not significant, that injury is a meticulous and long-lasting, can not rely on short-term surprise and it is successful, we must insist on the implementation of interventions, at the same time in the course of implementation should be strengthened supervision.
