Objectives:To compare the protective effects of omeprazole and ceftriaxone sodium on the gastric mucosa of hepatocirrhosis rats with hepatic portal interdiction in order to find an efficient way to prevent the damage of portal hypertensive gastrophy(PHG).Methods:First, sixty SD rats were randomly divided into six groups, ten rats in each group:group A(healthy rats);group B(hepatocirrhosis rats without hepatic portal interdiction);group C(hepatocirrhosis rats with hepatic portal interdiction);group D (hepatocirrhosis rats with hepatic portal interdiction and the use of omeprazole); group E(hepatocirrhosis rats with hepatic portal interdiction and the use of ceftriaxone sodium);group F(hepatocirrhosis rats with hepatic portal interdiction and the use of omeprazole and ceftriaxone sodium).Second,we built the model of hepatocirrhosis rats by CCl4.Third,omeprazole and ceftriaxone sodium were injected into the hepatocirrhosis rats' vein before the operation.Fourth,we interdicted hepatic portal to aggravate the gastric mucosa lesion in the hepatocirrhosis rats.Fifth, the gastric fluid pH,gastric mucosa blood flow(GMBF),gastric mucous content(GMC), gastric mucosal NO2/NO3,endotoxin,ulcer index(UI),the degree of necrosic tissues and neutrophils infiltration of every group were observed after the hepatic portal interdiction. Results:First, the gastric fluid pH,GMBF,GMC of group C were much lower than those of group B,and the UI of it was higher(P<0.05);Second,the UI and the degree of necrosic tissues of group D were much milder than those of group C,besides the gastric fluid pH,GMC and the gastric mucosa NO2/NO3 were higher(P<0.05); Third, the gastric fluid pH,GMBF,and the UI of group E were not different from omeprazole was significantly increased by the simultaneous use ofceftriaxone sodium, it obviously increased the gastric fluid pH,and GMC;moreover it decreased the UI, endotoxin, degree ofnecrosic tissues and the neutrophils infiltration(P<0.05).Conclusions:Hepatic portal interdiction can aggravate the gastric mucosa damage in hepatocirrhosis rats.Gastric mucous layer and gastric mucosa blood flow play an important protective role in the gastric mucosa of rats.Omeprazole is more efficient in protecting the gastric muosa than cefiriaxone sodium does, but the protective effect of omeprazole is significantly increased by the simultaneous use of cefiriaxone sodium.
