Objective To investigate the change and significance of serum Carcineombryonic antigen(CEA),Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),Neuron specific enolase(NSE),Cytokeratin 19 fragment(CYFRA21-1)and Squamous cell carcinoma antigen(SCC) markers in the patients with lung cancer before and after bronchial arterial infusion(BAI) therapy,while detect the therapeutic efficacy,safety ofBAI therapy.Methods 80 patients with lung cancer were randomly divided into two groups:systemic chemotherapy group(40 patients) and BAI therapy group(40 patients).40 normal healthy subjects were acted as the normal control group.Using ELISA technique,the serum CEA,VEGF,NSE,CYFRA21-land SCC markers were measured in 80 cases of the patients with lung cancer before and after two BAI therapy or chemotherapy,while the changes of Computed Tomography(CT) images were analysed.The efficacy was evaluated according to complete response(CR),partial response(PR),stable disease(SD) and progressive disease(PD).The clinical effect was evaluated with statistical method.Results The serum levels of CEA,VEGF,NSE,CYFRA21-land SCC markets were significantly higher in the Patients with lung cancer group than those in control group(P<0.01).After BAI therapy or chemotherapy group of CR and PR,the levels of CEA,VEGF,NSE,CYFRA21-land SCC markers in patients with lung cancer were decreased significantly than those before BAI therapy or chemotherapy group and those of SD and PD(P<0.01).The serum levels of CEA,VEGF,NSE, CYFRA21-land SCC markers were not significantly differences between both BAI therapy and chemotherapy group(P>0.05).Though the total effective rate of primary in BAI therapy was higher than that of systemic chemotherapy,but the incidence rate of transfer to disdant place in BAI therapy group was higher than that in systemic chemotherapy group.There are no effects ofBAI therapy on metastasis of lung cancer.Conclusion Bronchial arterial infusion therapy and systemic chemotherapy can decrease the levels of CEA,VEGF,NSE,CYFRA21-land SCC and inhibits proliferation of lung cancer cells.The primary focus can be controlled by BAI compared with systemic chemotherapy.The control of distant transfer of lung cancer was not ideal in BAI therapy group than systemic chemotherapy.Monitor of the changes of CEA,VEGF,NSE,CYFRA21-land SCC markers in the patients with lung cancer could be helpful to evaluate the effects of bronchial arterial infusion therapy. The five tumor markers might be helpful for the diagnosis and prognosis of lung cancer.
