Modern Research On The Change Of The Pulse Of Patients With Arrhythmia After Using Acupuncture

This paper focuses on the research on the change of the pulse of patients with arrhythmia before and after treating with acupuncture. A set of apparatuses which can monitor on real-time the stress on the needle and observe the change of the pulse synchronously are developed, and are used when the patients receive acupuncture. This set of apparatuses could display and record the signal of the stress on the needle synchronously and collect the change of pulse. The signals are then analyzed using some mathematical methods and some changes of the pulse signal are found. The physiological mechanism beneath those changes is then analyzed.The history of the pulse diagnosis is introduced, which shows us the importance of the pulse in the history of traditional Chinese Medical diagnosis. Some research methods which are commonly used recently is introduced. The principle and structure of the acupuncture dynamometer and the pulse apparatus are explained. After that, the pulse signal abstained from the experiment is analyzed by using time-domain analyzing method, fast Fourier transform, coarse grained method and so on. Results of the analysis show us that time-domain signal becomes structured from unordered, and the amplitude increased, while frequency-domain signal becomes smooth from unordered, the value of P2/P1 is decreased after acupuncture. The frequency-domain analysis indicates the change of the pulse signal's energy. The power spectrum becomes smooth after acupuncture, and the value of P2/P1 reduced. Taking the increase of the amplitude of the time-domain signal in consideration, a conclusion could be made, that is, the energy at the main frequency area is enhanced, which means that the heartbeat becomes more powerful and the heart's function is improved after acupuncture. To make a conclusion, the acupuncture is able to effectively improve the heartbeat ability of patients with arrhythmia and has great meaning in clinical treatment, which provides evidence to the reasonability of the pulse diagnosis.
