Objective:To count the CD4~+CD25~+regulatory T cells in patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, and to probably find a new immunological treatment for the diseses. Methods:MACS method was used to detect and count the CD4~+CD25~+ regulatory T cells in thirteen patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and fifteen healthy persons, and then as well as fifteen patients who had been treated. Results:The proportion of CD4~+CD25~+ regulatory T cells in the peripheral blood of patients with ITP was significantly lower than that of normal control group(9.17×10~7±4.17×10~7and 3.93×10~8+4.17×10~7,P<0.01).After treatment, the proportion of CD4+CD25+regulatory T cells was significantly increased(6.67×10~8±3.94×10~7and 9.33×10~7±4.03×10~7m,P<0.01 ).Conclusions In patients with ITP, the number of CD4~+CD25~+regulatory T cells is lower than that of normal patients, and after treatment, the number of CD4+CD25+regulatory T cells can be increased. It is suggested a possible new immunological treatment for patients with ITP.
