The Effects Of Jianpi Xingqi Decoction To Some Clinic Indexes And IL-6 On Dampness-heat Stay Inside Appendicitis After Appendectomy

ObjectiveAcute appendicitis is one of the most common surgical diseases, the incidence rates as the first of acute abdomen, patients whom received appendectomy occupied 10-15% of the total hospitalized surgical patients. With the improvement of living level recent years, the accelerating paces of life, the incidence of acute appendicitis were aimed to increasing. For the reasons of finding the good indexes to indicate the severity and prognosis of the disease, we did a randomized contrast study of 60 cases of heat intrinsic type appendicitis patients with Jianpi Xingqi decoction group and Western medicine group after operation. The patient' s WBC, IL-6 and other laboratory indexes such as discharge, defecation time and wound infective ratio were observed to find the relationship between the effects of Jianpi Xingqi decoction and IL-6 which affecting the recovery of gastrointestinal tract function and wound infections.MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria which written by Dr. Huang jiasi , we chosen 60 intrinsic type appendicitis patients whom received appendectomy from September 2008 to April 2009. The 60 cases were divided into treatment group and the control group randomized. Each group had 30 cases. The experiment group was treated with western medicine combined with Jianpi Xingqi decoction. The controlled group were treated with western medicine only. The observation duration was 7 days. ResultsThere are many differences between experiment and compared group which were observed. Such as the first defecation time and the time of relieving pain were shorted greatly (P <0. 05). The ratio of wound infection of experiment group were lower than contrast group. The IL-6 level and WBC counts of experiment group were decreased greatly than contrast group on 5th and 7th days after operation (P <0. 05). The two groups were shown great changes compared in same group after different treatments (P <0. 01) on 5th and 7th days. ConclusionJianpi Xingqi decoction method could promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, decrease postoperative wound infection rate in appendectomy patients. Jianpi Xingqi decoction method which changing the level of IL-6 level and the recovery of gastrointestinal function indicated that TCM played a very important way on absorption inflammatory factors. IL-6 levels represents the severity of the inflammation and trauma of the disease, predicts the prognosis of the disease.
