The Treatments Of Tinnitus Based On Chinese Medicine Treatment Determination With Syndrome Differentiation And Clinical Observation Therapy

Objective:Tinnitus is one of the most common pertinacious diseases.It is also one of the most complicated and difficult medical problems in iatrology. Nowadays,there are many clinical treatment techniques which have been investigated and tested by many medic experts.However,the reason of people are suffering from tinnitus has not yet been proved and affirmed.Therefore, there are still no conclusive methods on Clinic to treat tinnitus until now. Based on the current approaches in treating tinnitus,with the basic idea to embody the characteristcs well as to exploit the advantages of chinese medicine. We evaluate the outcome of the combined therapy by chinese medicine through observing the exact therapeutic effect to curing the disease from the perspective of chinese medical therapy.Method:All patients were selected according to the criteria of tinnitus come from my clinic from 2006 September to 2008 December.These 66 participants were divided into two groups.Both of the groups applied medical treatment and psychological treatment,but the treatment group also applied electroacupuncture.Treatment group had included 33 cases,16 male and 17 female.The ages of the group were from 19 to 70 years old and the average age was 46.27.Their shortest duration treatment was 15 days,whereas the longest duration treatment was 15 years.On the other hand,there were 33 cases of control group,18 male and 15 female,the ages of the group are from 20 to 82 years old and the average age was 45.03.The shortest duration treatment was 3 days and the longest treatment was 10 years.Both treatment group and control group had used age,gender,durations of symptoms and the degrees of before & after the treatment of the clients to examine.There were no significantly different compare between two groups(P＞0.05).Both treatment group and control group used the treatments of Chinese Medicine Treatment Determination with Syndrome Differentiation as well as Psychological Therapy. Treatment group used the treatment of tinnitus based on acupunctural treatment. The effectiveness and influences were related to the treatment of tinnitus based on Acupunctural treatment and Clinical Observation Therapy.Result:(1) Outcome of treatment:33 cases were included in both treatment group and control group.The effectiveness of the Treatment Group was 81.8%: recover rate was 18.2%,whereas,the effectiveness of the Control Group was 60.6%;the recover rate was 9.1%.The effectiveness of the treatment group and the control group was compared statistically by using student T test,the effectiveness was found to have significant different(P＜0.05).(2) The before and after the treatment of tinnitus of Treatment Group and Controi Group were 1.59 and 1.02 respectively.Treatment Group had the bigger contrast than Control Group,therefore,the recovery rate of Treatment Group was higher than Control Group.(3) The influence of the recovery effectiveness:in this report, there were 66 examples(within 30 days) of treatment duration compared statistically by using student T test,the effectiveness was found to have significant different(P＜0.05).It means that the treatment duration is one of the influences of the recovery effectiveness.The treatment was the best if it was within 30 days.Apart from that,the effectiveness of treatment was not very good.Also,the median of the 66 samples of the patients was 46 years old which used to compare statistically by using student T test,the effectiveness was found to have significant different(P＜0.05).This illustrated that people who was younger then 46 years old and older than 46 years old has no significant different.Hence,there was nothing about the age related to the treatment diagnosis.Conclusion:(1) 33 cases were treated using integrated Chinese medicine method,the effectiveness of treatment was 81.8%,when compared to the control group(60.6%effectiveness),and observation therapy showed that the treatment effectiveness of the treatment group was much better than that of the control group.(2) According to the results,although the total effectiveness percentage of the Chinese Medicine Synthesis Therapy was 81.8%,the recovery percentage rate only got 18.2%.On the other hand,Observation Therapy was hard to apply effectively on most of the patients.The treatment of tinnitus symptoms was mainly used control,adaptation and relief.There was a relationship between tinnitus and psychological factors.Patients towards the knowledge of tinnitus,attitude against their symptoms or their psychological status were playing an important role of the treatment as these factors might influence the result of treatment.(3)The relationship between the duration of symptoms and effectiveness of the treatment:The treatment effect was better for the patient who was having a shorter duration of symptoms and having no hearing impairment.The treatment effect for the patient with longer duration of symptoms and without hearing impairment was quite fluctuating.The treatment effect for the patient with longer duration of symptoms and with hearing impairment was not significant.(4) The relationship between age of onset and the effectiveness of treatment was still unknown,and worth doing further research.
