| Objective To detect the selenium(Se) in serum and hair of patients with autoimmune thyroid diseases(AITD),included Graves(GD),Hashimoto thyroiditis(HT) compared with normal controls. To investigate the relationship between Se and autoimmune thyroid diseases. Methods The subjects were divided into control group(n=43) and AITD group(n=112 ). Then the AITD group was subdivided into GD group(n=73) and HT group(n=39).All the subjects were detected TMAb and TGAb.Every subject was drew fasting venous blood, the detection including TGAb,TMAb,selenium in the serum and hair. The methods of digestion hair and serum were wet methods, then applying the method of hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrumetry to detect the Se in serum and hair.Results①The levels of the selenium in the serum and the hair of patients with the AITD is lower than the control group,p<0.05;there is no significant difference between the GD group and HT group,p>0.05.②The correlation between the goiter and the level of selenium in the serum and the hair is negative; The correlation between the level of selenium in the serum and hair with theⅢ°goiter is significant,p<0.05.③The correlation between the level of selenium in the serum and the hair with the level of TMAb and TGAb is negative,p<0.05.④The correlation between the level of selenium in the serum and the hair is positive,p<0.05.Conclusion:The level of selenium in the serum and hair of GD patients is significant lower than the controls,so is the HT patients; The level of selenium in the serum is closely related to the selenium in the hair. The joint monitoring can accurate evaluate the patients with AITD in lower selenium status. The negative correlation between the level of selenium in the serum and the hair with the level of TMAb and TGAb show that the lower selenium status is related to the AITD. |
