Clinical Value Analysis And Advantages Of Endoscopic Nasojejunal Feeding Tube Placement In Critical Patients

Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of endoscopically nasojujunal feeding tube placement(ENFTP) for patients with critical illness,on comparing with total parenteral nutrition(TPN),and to introduce the advantages of ENFTP.Method:Two groups of patients with critical illness were analyzed retrospectively. One group of 88 patients received ENFTP,and another group of 96 received TPN. Levels of blood routine,blood sugar,prealbumin,hepatic and renal function,blood lipid and blood calcium between the two groups were observed in baseline and after 1,2 and 4 weeks of nutritional support.Meanwhile,complication rate,mortality,nutrition support time,mean nutrition cost,mechanical ventilation time,ICU time,and mean hospital time were also analyzed.Record the ENFTP successfully or not.Results:ENFTP success rate 98.9%(87/88).After 4 weeks of nutrition support,the recovery degrees of red blood cell,prealbium,and blood sugar were more significant in ENFTP than in TPN group(all p＜0.05).And septicemia,multiple organ dysfunction (MODS),peripancreatic infection,abdominal infection,biliary and nosocomial infection rate,nutrition support time,mean nutrition time and mean hospital time were significantly lower in ENFTP group(all p＜0.05).Conclusion:ENFTP is safe and with high success rate,and much better for recovering anemia,increasing low prealbium,and decreasing high level of blood sugar,various infection rates(pulmonary infection excluded),MODS,nutrition support time and hospital time compared with TPN for critical patients and is safer and more economical for clinical application...
