Objective: To discuss the clinical features, diagnosis, treatments and prognosis of hepatic cystadenocarcinoma. Methods: Retrospectively analyse the clinical data of patients with hepatic cystadenocarcinoma admitted to our hospital from September 1997 to April 2008.Results: All the 4 patients with hepatic cystadenocarcinoma were male, with an average age of 71.8. Abdominal pain was common, and some can be accompanied by distention, ascites or weight loss, languor. Abdominal BUS and CT have their corresponding performances, but no significant specificity; laboratory routine examination has no significant abnormalities, either. One of them had elevated CA19-9 level. Intrahepatic cystic lesions in 4 patients have an average diameter of 8.3cm. Three of them were underwent operation and diagnosed by pathology, and the rest one didn't accept the operation because of distant metastasis. The one without surgery survived 11 months after diagnosis; 2 palliative surgery patients had both died with an average survival of 7.8 months; and the last one has survived more than 11 months, without recurrence or metastasis.Conclution: Hepatic cystadenocarcinoma is rare and with non-specific clinical manifestations, which can easily lead to misdiagnosis. Tumor markers and imaging may help to diagnose. Surgical resection is the most effective treatment, not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. And it has relatively better prognosis than other liver malignancies.
