Objective: To observe the efficacy of one stage anterior-posterior approach surgery in the treatment of multi-segmental cervical spondylotic myelopathy. Methods: following up and Analyzing the clinical features of 26 multi-segmental cervical spondylotic myelopathy patients who have complete information and were treated with the one stage anterior-posterior approach surgery in the affiliated hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine during 2000.1 ~ 2008.2. Scoring the spinal cord function before and after operation according to JOA criteria,at the same time comparing with the before and after operation imaging data, measuring reoperative and postoperative cervical curvature, then evaluating the efficacy of surgical treatment from the clinical and imaging study. Results: Comparing with the pre-operation,JOA score of patients after surgery improved significantly,(P <0.05); all cases of postoperative spinal cord function or neurological symptoms were improved and the preoperative and postoperative cervical curvature showed significant differences. Conclusion: The effect of one stage anterior-posterior approach surgery in the treatment of multi-segmental cervical spondylotic myelopathy is exact, and the long-term follow-up outcome is satisfied.
