Huangqi Effects On TGF-β1 In Epidural Scar After Laminectomy

Purpose: Through the use of epidural catheter infusion of local Huangqi methods and organization of the whole concept of dynamic observation study of epidural scar tissue, and determination of TGF-β1 staining one of the area to discuss the prevention of Huangqi Failed Back Surgery Syndrome ( failed back surgery syndrome, FBSS) mechanism for clinical prevention and provide a theoretical basis FBSS.Methods: 48 healthy adult New Zealand white Rabbits were established as the experimental models undergoing the side of spinous process of L3 laminectomy, with 5mm×5mm dura materexposed. All laminectomy levels were randomly divided into three groups.After incision in the washing operation, A group (instilled saline in the epidural 1ml), B group(instilled sodium hyaluronate in the epidural 1.0 mg), C group(after washing with normal saline into the epidural catheter, fixing epidural catheter in the skin to prevent falling and through the catheter instilling the appropriate Huangqi Injection about 0.1ml ). Heparin is used to prevent catheter blockage locked after each injection. A total of 5 days. At the2th,4th and 6th weeks,the samples were obtained for gross observation,histological examinations,and determination of scar in an area of TGF-β1 staining.Results: At the 2th week after laminectomy, A group of general observation and histology observation and B, C two groups were significantly different (P <0.05), A group of TGF-β1 staining area of the first two weeks, A group and B group, P <0.05, A group and C group, P <0.05, between the two there was a significant difference. While the B group and C group, P> 0.05, no difference between the two. At the 4th week, A group and B group, P <0.05, the two groups there was a significant difference, A group and C Group, P <0.05, between the two there was a significant difference, while the B group and C group, P <0.05, difference between the two groups was significant. At the 6th week after laminectomy, A group and B, C two groups, P <0.05, A group and B, C there is a significant difference between the two groups, while B group and C group, P> 0.05, no difference between the two groups.Conclusion: The 2 weeks of sodium hyaluronate compared with astragalus, both of which reduce epidural adhesion, the mechanism is possible by accelerating local hematoma and removal of inflammatory substances and inhibition of proliferation of fibroblasts, such as the role to achieve the , no significant difference between the two effects; and extended over time, the prevention of epidural adhesion after laminectomy scar formation and the role of non-obvious advantage. Can not be used as the material of choice for the prevention of FBSS.
