Objective: To observe the Xiwu Decoction on experimental rabbit knee osteoarthritis synovial membrane, cartilage in the IL-6, TGF-β1 expression.Methods: 48 Japanese rabbits were randomly divided into 6 groups: blank control group (A), model group (B), the control group (C), low-dose treatment group (D), Medium-dose treatment group (E), large dose treatment group (F), the Group 8. Week under the conditions of non-feeding. A group without any treatment, B, C, D, E, F group improved by Hulth model model law, the establishment of OA model. After two weeks on, A group to continue their normal farming, without any treatment; B group were given normal saline orally, 10ml / times, 1 times / day; C group were given oral solution Zhuanggu joint capsules, 0.5g/ml, 10ml / times, 1 times / day; D, E, F respectively 10ml knee to give Xiwu Decoction of small, medium and high-dose oral administration. Eight weeks after treatment the animals were killed, the knee joint synovial membrane collected, and detection of articular cartilage specimens of IL-6, TGF-β1 levels at the same time to observe the changes under light microscope.Results: The results show that the naked eye and microscope model group significant degenerative changes of articular cartilage and synovitis of change in the control group and knee Xiwu Decoction pathological changes in the treatment group than in model group light; Xiwu Decoction Small , medium and high-dose group after treatment, synovial membrane and cartilage can reduce IL-6 levels in the control group significantly reduced cartilage content of IL-6 synovial membrane but no significant change in the control group is superior to low-dose group reduced slip membrane and cartilage content of IL-6 effect, and in no difference in high-dose group; by Xiwu Decoction small, medium and high-dose treatment group and control group, the synovial membrane and articular cartilage in the TGF-β1 levels were increased, and compared with the model group were significantly different (P <0.05), Xiwu Decoction low-dose group compared with the control group were significantly different (P <0.05), and the control group is superior to low-dose group, Xiwu Decoction, high-dose group compared with the control group, no significant difference.Conclusion: The Xiwu Decoction and the clinical practice of medicine pills Zhuanggu joint experimental rabbit knee osteoarthritis have a preventive effect, one of its mechanism is to reduce the rabbit experimental knee osteoarthritis synovial membrane, cartilage in the IL - 6 expression in order to weaken its articular cartilage and synovial membrane of the role of damage; enhance the expression of TGF-β1 to enhance its protection and restoration of articular cartilage and synovial role.
