Objective To study the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment procedure and to assess the prognosis for patients with mantle cell lymphoma. Methods Introduce one case with mantle cell lymphoma admitted to our hospital, and review the related literatures. Results Mantle cell lymphoma is a unique subtype of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL) with its own clinical manifestation, morphology, immunophenotype and cytogenetic changes and has the t(11;14)(q13;q32) chromosomal translocation resulting in the expression of the cyclin D1 gene driven by the powerful enhancer of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene, leading to over-expressed cyclin D1 protein. Conclusion Mantle cell lymphoma requires the combinations of morphology, immunophenotype and cytogenetic to diagnose and behaves aggressively and remains incurable, the prognosis is the poorest in all of non-Hodgkin lymphomas. The clinicians should pay more attention to this disease.
