Objective:To investigate the effect of structolipid and physical mixed MCT/LCT on plasma lipid metabolism,nitrogen balance and protein metabolism of postoperative gastric cancer and colorectal cancer patients .Methods:48 cases postoperative gastric cancer and colorectal cancer patients who needed parenteral nutrition support at least 5 days were divided into STG groups with 24 cases and MCT / LCT group with 24 cases in the principle of randomized, blinded, control and were supported by STG or MCT / LCT with equivalent nitrogen and calorie from first day after operation for 5 days. then blood samples were tested for nitrogen balance respectively at first and sixth day after operation and assay for level of serum prealbumin., triglyceride ,cholesterol respectively at day of postoperation, first day and sixth day after operation. At the seconed day after operation, serum prealbumin., triglyceride ,cholesterol were also measured after and before the use of parenteral nutrition. we also recoreded the Weight of patients at the sixth day after operation and before operation together with the time of inpatient.Results:Compared with the preoperation ,the plasma triglyceride and cholesterol of two groups were dropped obviously after operation and increased at the 6th day after operation. Between the two groups, there was a greater increase in triglyceride and a smaller decrease in cholesterol in the patients of MCT/LCT group.Postoperative use of STG and MCT / LCT intravenous nutrition can corrected patients with negative nitrogen balance and promoted the synthesis of serum prealbumin. STG can more significantly improved patients with negative nitrogen balance, enhanced the level of serum prealbumin.In the maintenance of body weight and shorten the hospital on day, there was no significant difference between STG group and MCT / LCT group.Conclusion:STG has less effects than MCT /LCT according to triglyceride , STG obviously improve protein metabolism than MCT/LCT fat emulsion in patients .
