The incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD) which was with higher incidence of death and disability increased more and more in recent years in our country, so its early diagnosis and treatment is very important. The diagnosis of coronary heart disease mainly depend on invasive angiography. In recent years, Multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) has been developing rapidly in terms of both equipment and technology, and its clinical application is increasing year by year, which indicates that the twenty-first century may be entering into an era of non-invasive imaging diagnosis of coronary heart disease. From 1990s to now, MSCT has been developed rapidly, from 4-slice spiral CT to 8,16,32,40,64,128,256-slice CT and dual-source CT. Spiral scanning speed was gradually improved, the width of the detector was gradually increased. With the increase in the speed of spiral scanning, the temporal resolution is also increased, so that the scope of the applicable heart rate is increased; With the increased detector width, the unit time scanning coverage is also increased, MSCT scan time is also shortened, so the coronary CT examination success rate and diagnostic accuracy rate become higher.MSCT is important in the diagnosis and exclusion of coronary artery disease by detecting coronary stenosis, evaluating coronary plague stability. It also has higher value in the evaluation of post coronary artery bypass grafting and post stent implantation. It can also be used for myocardial perfusion, cardiac function analysis and evaluate other coronary diseases. This article mainly introduced the technology development and clinical application of multi-slice spiral computed tomography.
