In our country, there are many women take intrauterine devices as a commonly contraceptive method. The total number accounts eighty percent of total number. Copper intrauterine devices persistently release copper ion, which has activity of antifertility. Copper T 380a is one of the most effective intrauterine device, but the complication of Copper T 380a is serious, such as pain, hemorrhage, etc.The copper/lower-density polyethylene composite is a new control controllable copper containing culture-medium composed of polyvinyl alcohol, silicon dioxide and chloratum. Copper ion is released through the balance of complexation rather than corrosion, which avoids the phenomenon of copper release sudden and violent, as well as increase effective copper ion.Partâ… The effects of the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite on the sperm function of rats. Objective: To evaluate the effect of the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite on motility and viability of rats. Methods: Mature male Wistar rat sperm are divided into normal control group, nonoximol group and the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite group. Spern motility and viability are compared among atdifferent time point.Result: Compared with normal groups, sperm motility and viability in copper/lower-density polyethylene composite groups were obviously increased at the same time(P<0.001). 4μg/ml copper/lower-density polyethylene composite can inhibit the spermatozoa's motility in thirty minimum. 16μg/ml can kill all motile spermatozoa in an hour. Conclusion: The copper/lower-density polyethylene composite can inhibit motile of sperm and kill sperm in a short time.Partâ…¡The effects of the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite on the structure of sperm in rats. Objective: To observe the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite on the structure of the spermatozoa in rats, using light microscope's structure and ultrastructure, and to explore the possible site of action of the influence of this material on spermatozoa. Methods: Sperm morphous and ultrastructure were observed by light micrope and transmission electron microscope. Spermatozoa total defect index were compared among each groups.Result: Under the light microscope, defective morphous, such as spherospermia, acephalia spermatozoa were observed in Cu group. It was shown by the transmission electron microscope that spermatozoa's ultrastructure structures were changed obviously of the spermatozoa in Cu group. Spermatozoa's plasmalemmas were damaged and spermatozoa's head surface with high electron density copper ion granulation. Mitochondria cristae membranes become obscure. Conclusion: The defect of plasmalemmas and mitochondrial sheath structure including by copper may be one of reasons of copper ions can inhibit motility. Partâ…¢The effects of the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite on Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase of sperm plasma membranes in rats. Objective: To study the role of Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase on the sperm motility and explore the possible mechanism of the influence of copper ions on spermatozoa. Methods: Detected by chromatometry, the activity Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase of spermatozoa plasma membranes were compared among each groups.Result: The activity of Na+-K+-ATPase were lower in all the copper/lower-density polyethylene composite groups than that in control groups(P<0.001). It also shown obvious difference between high dose and medium dose, there are different in the copper group and nonoximol group. For Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase, those two groups have low than control group. However, only high dose group shown obvious difference compared with that of nonoximol group( P<0.05).Conclusion: The copper/lower-density polyethylene composite had effects on sperm motility througt the activity of Na+-K+-ATPase or Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Copper/lower-density polyethylene composite, Rat, Sperm, Motility, Viability, copper/lower-density polyethylene composite, rat, Spermatozoa, Structure, Spermatozoa plasma membranes, Na~+-K~+-ATPase, Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
