Objective:The study investigated the endotoxin removal in human blood by the amide membrane package. Methods:Affinity membrane was prepared with amino acid immobilized on the hydrophile-modified poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF) membrane. Two kinds of affinity membranes were utilized for endotoxin removal, namely, arginine affinity membrane and aspartate affinity membrane. With two different amino acids as the ligands, the adsorption process was conducted by dynamic analysis method.Their adsorbability of the membranes in endotoxin removal were investigated and compared. Results:The three affinity membrane packages can remove endotoxin in human blood effectively in this experiment. The clearance of the PVDF membrane is(55.87±1.88)%;the arginine affinity membrane and the aspartate affinity membrane is(85.18±2.19)%and(85.50±1.56)%,respectively.There is siginificant difference of their adsorbability than the PVDF membrane(P<0.01),but there is no siginificant difference of their adsorbability.(P>0.05) Conclusion:The amide membrane package may effectively remove the endotoxin of human blood, also has a a high retention of desirable component. The results showed that the adsorbent has a good blood compatibility and clinical application foreground.
