Objective:Comparison of patients with traumatic optic neuropathy by endoscopic decompression of the optic canal and the simple clinical efficacy of drug treatment and to explore the impact of visual prognosis factors. The method:This paper retrospectively reviews 60 patienis with severe traumatic optic neuropathy(vision after injury<0.1) in Haerbin 242 hospital from June 2007 to December 2008.51 cases are maleand 9 cases are femal. Patients'age from 16~51.The patients are divided into two groups:Operation group of 30 cases of patients with endoscopic optic nerve decompression, routine postoperative high-dose glucocorticoids, vasodilator, neurotrophic drug treatment.Drug treatment group, simply to give high-dose glucorticoids, vasodilator, neurotrophic drug treatment. The result:Surgical group total effectiveness 98.18%,drug group total effectiveness 94.29%,there is statistic difference(p<0.005)between the two groups. The curative effete of operation is much better.According to the operation periods, there is difference(p=0.0168)between injured patiens operated within 7days and after 7days.It shows-the sooner, the better. The conclusion:Severe traumatic optic neuropathy of the optic nerve decompression in the treatment efficacy of drug therapy than a simple precise and early surgery better. The treatment, time, coma, and the extent of optic nerve injuries are factors of TON.
