Objective The concept of esthetics is popular following the advancement of new era, malaligment of dentition gradually becomes recognized by the public, age of the patient accepting orthodontia involved all classes of the society. For adult orthodontia, it is quite often encountered that the orthodontic appliance adhered onto the surface of the glazed porcelain teeth. Japan had discovered PLM (Porcelain Liner-M) which is commonly used when the orthodontic appliance is adhered on the surface of the glazed porcelain teeth by means of treatment solution. However, in practical, orthodontic appliance fall off is very common, thus disturbing both the orhtodontists and the patient. Therefore we shall discuss on whether we shall use Porcelain Liner–M on surface of glazed porcelain teeth with consideration on control of temperature and timing so that orthodontic appliance on surface of glazed porcelain teeth can achieve better results.Methods Use 60 numbers of same glazed porcelain teeth and divided by 6 groups at random that each group has 10 numbers. The first group do not used PLM but adhere by Super bond C&B; the second group use PLM direct to adhere to; the third group use PLM waiting for 30second under room temperature then adhere; the forth group use PLM waiting for 60 seconds under room temperature then adhere; the fifth group use PLM being heated up to 40℃for 60 seconds then adhere; the sixth group use PLM with freeze detergent at–50℃, adhere after 2 second. After 24 hours take all 60 glazed porcelain teeth together with orthodontic appliance and have the material test machine to test the adhesive power .After orthodontic appliance fall off, use PIA image analysis software to analyze every group of the glazed porcelain teeth surface to check on the amount of gums debris left.Results 1.group 5 has the greatest strength of 130.050±68. 988(N), group 6 is the second which has 122.630±60.563(N) , group1 is the least of 57.490±23.455(N), the average strength has significant difference. 2. group 5 has the greatest bonding strength of 9.949±5.277 Mpa; group6 is the second which has 9.381±4.633MPa, group 1 is the weakest of 4.398±1.794MPa 3.each group has significant difference on average residual resin remain has except group3. Porcelain liner–M can raise the bonding strength of Superbond C&B with porcelain surface when the temperature increase to 40℃and treat with cold detergent to-50℃.Conclusions (1) The use of PLM can increase the bonding strength of 4-META/MMA-TBB with glazed porcelain surface. (2)The bonding strength will increase significantly after 60 minutes waiting after application of PLM. (3) About the effect of temperature on PLM , the heat treatment of 40℃can increase the strength of bonding between porcelain surface . this result match with the manufacture recommendation of dry warm air. From the above point of view, the following theory: mma solvent such as porcelain liner-M, can offer chemical bonding and increase the bonding strength between 4-META/MMA-TBB and porcelain surface. heat treatment to 40℃can increase the vaporization of mma solvent, increase the bonding strength between porcelain surface and composite resin . increasing the waiting time also has the same effect. Therefore clinically, we recommend the use of PLM and treat with warm air , which can increase the bonding strength of PLM...
