Disease Spectrum And Death Causes Of Resident Patients In A Children's Hospital In Anhui Province

Objective To investigate the disease spectrum in Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital and the proportion between them with the progress of the ages,then try to investigate the common disease and death cauase in different age stages, so as to configure the medical resource reasonably and provide scientific basis and guide for the treatment and prevention for children's disease.Methods Check the quality of case history of resident children in the 15 years since the hospital built, diagnosing according to ICD-10,and classifing by the first diagnosis.Create an Excel table and input data. Divide the resident children less than 12 years into five stages according to age, investigate the disease spectrum in Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital and the proportion between them with the progress of the ages and the common disease and death cauase in different age stages in the last five years by retrospective study and statistical anslysis.Results 94484 cases were diagnosed from 1993 to 2007. The diseases of respiratory system were the first or second(20.48% in stage one,17.29% in stage two and 28.73% in stage three),the total proportion was 26.39%. Peripartum disease showed an increasing trend(5.09% in stage one,10.21% in stage and 14.08% in stage three).Psychopathy raised obviously(0.07% in stage one,0.36% in stage and 0.43% in stage three). There were 53073 cases from 2003 to 2007. The cure rate has raised from 35.99% in 2003 to 44.67% in 2007,so as to showed an increasing trend(χ_{趋势}² =138.526, P<0.001).Fantality rate showed an decreasing trend,from 1.14% in 2003 to 0.31% in 2007(χ_{趋势}² = 57.470, P<0.001). Rremature ranks number one in newborns with the proportion of2.58%(203/7864) . Bronchopneumonia was the most common disease in infants and preschool children,the proportion was 10.16%(803/7905) in infants,6.70%(546/8152) in toddlers and 8.13%(668/8213)in preschoolers. Congenital heart disease was most common in congenital anomaly,raking number one in schoolage children(2.06%,254/12357). Respiratory diseases is still the most common death cauases,the proportion was 55.88%(38/68)in newborns,55.56%(5/9) in infants and 51.85%(14/27) in toddlers.In preschoolers,the fatality rate was 0.27%(22/8213),taking nervous system disease ,hurt and intoxation (22.73%,5/22)as the common death cause.In schoolage children ,the fatality rate was 0.36%(45/12357),and the common death cause was hurt and intoxation(44.44%,20/45).Conclusion It indicates that we should put on the stress on the treatment and prevention of the common diseases and frequently encountered diseases.Proper method should be offered to prevent and cure different disease since different disease happens in children with different age stages.At the same time, pay enough attention to children's mental health,provide different health education to patriarches,teachers and children.
