Objective:To evaluate the correlations of serum N-terminal probrain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) levels and prognosis in patients with acute myocardial syndromes(ACS) during 1-month follow-up.Methods:Serum NT-proBNP concentrations were measured by ELISA method within 24h after admission and 1 week on admission in 99 patients with ACS. The patients were followed up for 1 month and the main adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) were observed and recorded. Results:Serum NT-proBNP levels increased in 99 patients with ACS. Compared with that in patients with unstable angina subjects, Serum NT- proBNP levels with STEMI and NSTEMI subjects was significantly high (P<0.05). The mean value of NT-proBNP concentrations within 24h after admis- sion and 1 week on admission in patients with ACS was 1120.70±2064.90pg/ml and 241.01±309.72pg/ml separately, the medium value was 351.60pg/ml and 103.90pg/ml separately. The incidence of MACE was increased in patients whose serum NT-proBNP concentration was higher than the mediam within 24h after admission. Multivariate logistic regres- sion analyisis revealed that NT-proBNP Concentration was correlated with the incidence of MACE during follow-up independently (OR=13.74, 95% CI2.73~68.97, P=0.001)Conclusions:Serum NT-proBNP level is a independent predictor for 1 month MACE rate in patients with ACS.
