Short-term Clinical Study On The One-visit Endodontic Treatment In Cracked Teeth

Objective:To investigate the short-term effect of one-visit endodontic treatment on teeth with pulpitis and chronic periodontitis caused by tooth crack and to shorten the therapy time,reduce the complication of the cracked tooth,raise the success rate of the therapy.Materials and Methods:Treat 25 teeth of pulpitis and periodontitis caused by tooth crack with one-visit endodontic treatment,and evaluate the short-term(three months) healing rate and the postoperative pain.Treat other 20 teeth of pulpitis and periodontitis caused by other endodontic disease with the tranditional multi-visit treatment,and evaluate the postoperative pain and have a statistical analysis with one-visit treatment group.Result:1.The short-term healing rate of one-visit group is 100%,no treatment failure or tooth fracture happened.2.There're 18 teeth of pulpitis and 7 of periodontitis in one-visit group,and the healing rate are all 100%.3.The postoperative pain of periodontitis teeth happened more than the pulpitis teeth.The difference showed a statistical significance(P=0.037).But the happening rate of postoperative pain in one-visit group was no higher than the multi-visit group(P=0.748).Conclusion:1.The investigation of short-term healing rate of one-visit endodontic treatment on pulpitis and periodontitis caused by tooth crack shows a very high success rate.2.The one-visit endodontic treatment is not significantly different from the tranditional multi-visit treatment in happening rate of postoperative pain.3.The periodontitis of cracked tooth is not different from the pulpitis in short-term healing rate,but shows a higher happening rate of postoperative pain.
