Objectives:It is common knowledge that the SOD is a natural antibody of oxygen free radicals in organism, Selenium is the focal composing element of some free radicals elimination enzyme, both of them were played great role for the organism to maintain its anti-oxidation ability. Researches has shown that the anti-oxidation ability of human being's organism has been dropping after 50 years old, especially in the aged people. The dropping activity of the anti-oxidation enzyme can lead to the slow down of the free radicals'elimination in the organism. There are also other factors, such as ultraviolet radiation, x ray,γray, smog of cigarette, oxidation contamination and electric radiation which can bring out the abnormal free radicals beyond the normal metabolize, the accumulation of damages can cause old and cell feeble. Tea is a traditional health care drink which has many biological functions to the human body such as anti-oxidation, reducing the blood fat, accelerating the cancer cell dead, and catching the inside free radicals and preventing the arteriosclerosis, all of these are depending on the organic matters and non-organic matters contained in the tea. The study targeted on the effect of green tea rich in Selenium and SOD on aged rats'organism anti-oxidation ability according to the index contents of blood serum ,the SOD,MDA and GSH-Px in the liver as well as the blood serum T-AOC. This test observes the effects of green tea rich in Selenium and SOD on tested animals'blood fat level , liver and kidney at the same time. We also measureed the contents of tea polyphenols, soluble carbohydrate and catechins in the two kinds of green tea, and provided relevant references for the utilization of the green tea rich in Selenium and SOD.Methods:1. Measure the content of tea polyphenols, soluble carbohydrate and catechins in ordinary green tea and the green tea rich in Selenium and SOD.Take the smashed particle of ordinary green tea and the green tea rich in Selenium and SOD, using the method of comparing the color of fertaron to measure the content of tea polyphenols, using the method of comparing the color of anthracene ketone to measure the content of dissoluble carbohydrate and by means of comparing the color of Su-Vanilla to measure the contents of tea catechins.2. Grouping and raising the aged rats.Thirty 14-month-old male SD rats were randomly divided into control group, ordinary green tea group and green tea rich in Selenium and SOD group. The rats in three groups were perfused with distilled water, ordinary green tea powder solution or green tea powder solution riched with Selenium and SOD on the basis of feeding general feedstuff seperately. Kill them after feeding them for 45 days, sampling the blood from the abdomen artery and separate the blood serum and take out their livers to make liver homogenate quickly, then measure the relevant index respectively .3. Measure the relevant index of anti-oxidation effects of green tea rich in Selenium and SOD.Measure the activity of SOD and GSH-Px and the content of T-AOC and MDA in blood serum as well as the activity of SOD and GSH-PX and the content of MDA in liver homogenate.4. Measure the relevant index of tested animals'blood fat and the function of their livers and kidneies.Measure the content of CHOL,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C,BUN and Cr and the activity of ALT,AST in the tested animals'blood serum.Results:1. The tea polyphenols, dissoluble carbohydrate, catechins respectively take 32.79%,5.3% and 15.98% percents in the dry elements of green tea rich in Selenium and SOD, while the three elements respectively take 29.84%,5.17% and 14.76% percents in the dry elements of ordinary green tea.2. The level of MDA content in the blood serum of the ordinary green tea group was significantly lower than that in the control group (p<0.01), while the activity of SOD and GSH-Px in both blood serum and liver organism is markedly higher than the control group(p<0.05). The values of all biomarkers of the green tea group riched with Selenium and SOD were markedly different with ordinary tea group and control group. 3. There is no difference before testing the CHOL,TG content of blood serum in each animal group, after the test, the above-mentioned index in ordinary green group and green tea rich in Selenium and SOD group is lower than that in the blank comparison group, but only the CHOL contents have statistics meaning (P<0.01);although the above-mentioned index in green tea rich in Selenium and SOD group is lower than that in the ordinary group , there is no statistics difference among groups.4. When the test is end, the animals'weight ,the activity of AST and ALT and the content of BUN and Cr in the blood serum in these three groups has no remarkable difference.Conclusions:1. The tea polyphenols, dissoluble carbohydrate, catechins content in green tea rich in Selenium and SOD is a little higher than in the ordinary green tea, it indicates that the fabrication of green tea rich in Selenium and SOD has no effect on its intrinsic efficacy elements.2. Green tea with or without Selenium and SOD enriched can all enhance organism anti-oxidation ability of the aged rats, but the later is more effective, the Selenium and SOD maybe play a role.3. Though this test takes the non-high blood fat animal mode, it can also indicates that the ordinary green tea and green tea rich in Selenium and SOD is beneficial to the fat metabolion of the aged rats.4.This research shows that ordinary green tea and green tea rich in Selenium and SOD have no influence on the animals'weight and the function of their livers and kidneys.
